Wholesale Shark Skin

Shark leather is world known for its rough, course texture. In the coarser developments of shark skin, it has been used like sandpaper for polishing. However, the finer tanned shark skins are used for shoes, handbags, and other leather items. Highly sought after, these skins are by-products from fishing villages and international cuisine.

Industry Specific

All of our leather is coming from non-endangered and non-threatened shark species and no CITES is required. Currently, we're offering black fin species in 1 to 4 oz thickness in a rough or soft-tanned presentation.

Tanning Technique

Our shark skins have extra oils to produce a much softer, almost fabric-like or garment-grade leather. Additionally, the outer surface can be skived if a nubuck or suede finish is desired, a simple do it your self technique is to apply high grid sandpaper.

Availability

Due to it's high demand, Shark is one of the leathers that varies greatly in availability from season to season. Thus, we recommend carefully calculating your needed yield and purchasing enough material for your project all at once. Shark skins range from 4-10 square foot and are sold as they come in from nature. We are currently the only seller in the marketplace with credits for blemishes and holes, other than the natural A-shape or H-shape from harvesting around the fins. If your skins has a blemish, hole, or imperfection we credit those from the overall square footage. However, it is always was to include in your calculations an overage appropriate for your usage/pattern.

Only the Best Genuine Shark Skin

We at Rojé Leather, strive to have the best quality, softest skins, and the most innovative colors and finishes in the international marketplace. We do not compete on price, rather quality, innovation and service. Once you are past sampling and have financing in place, than consider giving us a production order. Our low minimums of 200 square foot per color allows you to bring to market an exclusive color and finish to separate yourself from your competition. We even offer gold tipped metallic finishes.

About Sharks

Many species are found in all parts of the ocean, they are more numerous in warm seas. Their bodies are rounded, and torpedo shaped, giving them the ability to swim rapidly. Shark skin appears smooth, but when rubbed forward toward the shark's head, it is very rough.

In ancient times, the Norwegians became specialists in Shark fishing but shark fisheries have since been established throughout the world.
